SYNOPSIS:

Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, it's practically a holiday. On Black Friday, Hendricks Megastore is in a class all by itself. Wanda Styles is the store manager who hangs onto her job by a thread. Taz is her assistant manager, the shark ready to take her job. Two things worry Wanda--one is her Black Friday sales, two is a bad report by a mystery shopper. There's not only one mystery at Hendricks on this Black Friday, there's two. Brooklyn Hayes's dream is only one day away. All she has to do is finish this Hendrick's mystery shop, get her usual Grade A on her shop report, and then win the Mystery-Shopper-of-the-Year $25,000. Then, she can be the fourth and final partner in a brand new autism-related clinic. Her dream job. Standing in her way, however, is Harry Peters. He's not only tied with Brooklyn for the Mystery-Shopper-of-the-Year prize, but he's also desperate for the money. He's broke after filming an indy film. Both Brooklyn and Harry show up for their final mystery shop on this Black Friday. They must compete for the $25,000 amid Black Friday chaos. As mystery shoppers, they shop twenty departments, eat one meal, purchase and return an entertainment package in eight hours. They focus on evaluating customer service. But, neither can get outed by store management. If, that happens, their shop is null and void. At first, they don't play fair. Each shopper finds clever ways to disturb the others' shop. This is easy because Brooklyn and Harry have different styles. Brooklyn is scripted and prepared. Harry is looser, relaxed, and doesn't mind winging it in order to start a meaningful conversation. Meanwhile, pressure mounts for Wanda. Mr. Hendricks, the owner of Hendricks, arrives and confirms that if Wanda doesn't succeed today, she's out. And, Taz is in. Wanda's idea is to rake in sales and also ID the mystery shopper. She doesn't want to out the mystery shopper, against Taz's wishes. She wants to "kill the MS with kindness." She needs a good report. Taz, however, also doesn't play fair. He sickens the employee food, buddies up to Mr. Hendricks, and ID's the wrong mystery shopper so Wanda will waste her time with a gold star treatment to wrong MS. All doesn't go well for Brooklyn and Harry. They finally have to call a truce at the same time that Wanda discovers her mistake and ID's Brooklyn as the MS. She begins to help both Brooklyn and Harry. Then, all three-Brooklyn, Harry, and Wanda-get set-up by Taz. He brings in Mr. Hendricks and outs both Brooklyn and Harry, and exposes Wanda for going against store policy by aiding a mystery shopper. Making things worse is the appearance of May Withers, head of Mystery Shop Inc. and the soon-to-be ex-wife to Mr. Hendricks. She informs her employees, Brooklyn and Harry, they both were assigned to shop Hendricks but now their shops are over. Neither can win the $25,000. In the parking lot, Brooklyn and Harry expose their feelings for one another—they kiss. Wanda shows up to apologize. But, instead of walking away, Harry comes up with a plan. He talks with May Withers and then explains his plan to Brooklyn and Wanda. The plan has two parts, one is to save Wanda's job. The second is Harry wants Brooklyn to finish her shop. He'll let her win. Brooklyn hates that idea, she likes the challenge. She's changing her style and it's all because of Harry. Harry finally agrees and gets back into the game while setting up his plan to save Wanda's job. After Harry and Brooklyn finish their shops, Harry lures the beautiful and seductive Candace, an employee Taz lusts after, into a Mattress Department rendezvous. Taz catches Harry with Candace but exposes himself in the process—store security had been looking into Taz the whole time. He's out. Mr. Hendricks reinstates Wanda while all Harry and Brooklyn need to do is complete their reports. They do that in Las Vegas. However, instead of writing the reports, they begin a new life plan as a couple.
