Hey, Hakim Kisakye. This is an interesting concept, but I think your logline needs some work.
Here's a logline suggestion: "After an intelligent boy's parents are killed, he tries to raise his little sister and prove that his dad's well-known friend instigated the murders.”
I don't know the story, so "prove that his dad's well-known friend instigated the murders" could be wrong.

You're welcome, Hakim Kisakye. You can use the feature script logline template for your overall series logline and episode loglines. I'm not sure if it'll work for novellas though. It might.
“After ______ (the inciting incident/the event that sets the plot in motion), a _______ (an adjective and the protagonist's position/role) tries to _______ (goal of story) so/in order to ________ (stakes).”
The inciting incident can also be at the end of the logline: “A _______ (an adjective and the protagonist's position/role) tries to _______ (goal of story) so/in order to ________ (stakes) after ______ (the inciting incident/the event that sets the plot in motion).”
