When a man’s wife accidentally kills his pregnant ex-mistress, he helps her cover up the crime.

SYNOPSIS:

Lecturer Russell returns home from work to find the young student he had an affair with, Heather, waiting outside his house. After reiterating it's over between them she reveals she is pregnant with his baby. He wants her to have an abortion, but she refuses to. She wants him to pay her $10,000 to prevent her from telling his wife everything. She gives him a day to think about it and leaves, but only seconds after she's left he hears a car accident outside.

Upon exiting the house he discovers his wife, Wendy, has crashed her car into his on the driveway and lying on the ground in front of her car is an unconscious Heather. Wendy checks Heather's pulse and breaks the news that she is dead. Russell claims not to know the girl and is about to call the police, before Wendy reveals to him she has been drinking and will likely go to prison. She would lose everything including the inheritance she is due to receive from her father's death.

Russell reconsiders, seeing this as an opportunity to rid himself of his own problem and ensure he can get his hands on Wendy's money. He agrees to help Wendy cover up the crime and dispose of Heather's body. They roll her up in a rug and take her to a wood where they dump her body.

When they return home they get a visit from a police detective investigating the disappearance of Heather. She had an argument with her parents and ran away. They have spoken to her friends and were told she regularly visits Russell to get advice on essays etc. This is a shock to Wendy to know Russell knew her. Russell is asked if he's seen her, but he claims he hasn't and offers to call the police if he does.

Later that night, Russell struggles to sleep even seeing visions of Heather walking through their house.

The next day they receive another visit from the detective to tell them they've found Heather's body. They've also found diary entries from her that claim Russell made a rejected pass at her and even raped her. Russell protests his innocence as he is told he threatened to kill her if she told anyone what happened. They also have a witness who saw Russell dumping a body where they found Heather. Russell can't believe what is happening as they arrest him. He comes clean about their affair and that Heather was carrying his baby.

The cuffs are removed and the detective reveals herself to be Heather in disguise. Wendy is smiling at him. She already knew about his affair as Heather had come to her several days before to tell her. Wendy knew he only ended their affair because she was getting a large inheritance and he needed the money. Together the two women decided he needed to suffer. Now she has his confession of infidelity on tape she'll have no problem securing a favourable divorce. Heather reveals there is no baby, she only told him that so he would go along with Wendy's plan to cover up the crime.

Russell loses his temper and tries to strangle Wendy. Heather hits him over the head with an ornament and he collapses to the ground bleeding. Wendy checks his pulse and looks over to Heather and tells her he's dead
