Stage 32 + Cannes Film Festival Marche du Film present a Free Webinar on How to Navigate Cannes!

Happy Friday, Creative Army!

If you’ve ever dreamed of taking your film to the Croisette, shaking hands with global buyers, or simply navigating the incredible whirlwind that is the Cannes Film Festival and its Marché du Film, this is for you.

I’m thrilled to announce that this upcoming Wednesday, March 26th, we’re hosting a completely FREE webinar with the Executive Director of the Marché du Film, Guillaume Esmiol, to help you prepare for Cannes—whether this is your first time attending or you’re returning with a brand-new project in hand.

Stage 32 is proud to be the official industry education partner of the Cannes Film Festival Marché du Film for the eleventh consecutive year. Together with Guillaume and the incredible Marché team, we’re giving our Stage 32 community insider access to the tools, strategies, and know-how you need to make your Cannes experience truly worthwhile.

Why This Webinar Matters

Let’s be honest, Cannes can be overwhelming. Over 12,000 industry professionals descend on the French Riviera each year. Nearly 4,000 projects are presented across 33 screening venues. And while the energy is electric, the stakes are high, and navigating this landscape without a plan can leave even the most seasoned creatives spinning.

But this webinar is your roadmap.

In this exclusive session, Guillaume Esmiol, the man at the helm of the Marché, will walk you through what to expect, how to set realistic goals, and how to best position yourself to pitch, network, and gain real traction at the world’s most prestigious film market.

Whether you’re heading to Cannes with a finished film, a project in development, or just an idea, this is the kind of clarity that can save you time, money, and missed opportunities.

What You’ll Learn

  • What to expect at the Marché du Film in 2025
  • How to make the most of your badge and plan your schedule
  • Tips for pitching, networking, and building strategic relationships on the ground
  • The evolving trends and industry focus areas at this year’s Marché
  • How the Palais, Riviera, Lérins, and Village International are structured—and how to use each area to your advantage
  • What NOT to do (yes, we’ll cover the mistakes that trip people up)

Even if you’ve attended Cannes in the past, things evolve every year. This webinar will help you stay current and aligned with what industry professionals are actually looking for right now.

Meet Your Teacher: Guillaume Esmiol

Guillaume Esmiol is not just leading this session, he’s leading the Marché itself. Appointed Executive Director in 2023, Guillaume has been instrumental in driving innovation, expanding global partnerships, and shaping how the Cannes market adapts to shifting trends in content, tech, and global collaboration.

He also serves as Co-Executive Director of Ventana Sur (Latin America’s leading audiovisual market) and is the Director of Cinando, the online network that powers industry connection across the globe.

Before Cannes, Guillaume led innovation at TF1 Group and has worked across startup studios, content acquisition, and marketing, giving him a unique understanding of the full creative-to-market pipeline.

This is your chance to hear directly from someone who is shaping the future of the film industry at the global level.

I'm a sucker for a Festival. Community and networking breathe a lot of new passion, life and inspiration into my creativity. Since I can't be there in person, I can't think of a better way than to live virtually through the Stage 32 family! Thanks for organizing and providing these for all of us at the keyboards!

I'm fine tuning my Showreel and Pitch Deck and want to be there to find the right home for my series The Savage Roads. I'm attending the seminar but apparently you need to be invited. I'd love to be a part of our Stage32 family there and have a vino with a certain Italian genius.

Indeed, Maurice and RB, it does look like a valuable webinar -- though I sure wish all Stage 32-ers could actually go there in person. How great would that be! / Looking forward to hearing about the experiences of those who will be there.

One of my favorite things about Cannes (and really any festival/market) is meeting Stage 32 members from all over the globe, Pamela Jaye Smith. Nothing quite like it. We'll do everything we can to make sure everyone "feels" the experience.
