This is an advanced level lab designed for students who already have a completed, polished script with a pitch deck who are ready to seriously build a package to attach talent, other Above The Line, financing or distribution.
Unfortunately in today’s market a great script is not enough. Networks, streamers and financiers are looking to indie filmmakers to attach other key elements to your script in order to get noticed and most film financiers in the industry make their finance decisions based on the value of the package. This makes it essential for you to be able to provide a package that adds value in order to get attention and get your film made.
Many filmmakers attach talent to their film that offers no real value (just because you know their name doesn’t mean they have value) or underestimate a known director or producer’s ability to help draw talent. It is also very common that filmmakers build a strong package but do not have a finance plan that makes sense and will attract money and financial support. Another common mistake is targeting sales agents and financiers that are not tonally or professionally the right fit for your unique film. Having a professional deck, strong attachments, highlighting other intriguing elements like IP and having a solid finance plan, query letter and pitch all go hand in hand in helping get your film made and this lab will walk you through all of it.
Your educator Tiffany Boyle has produced hundreds of films and is the President of Packaging & Sales at Ramo Law (known for films like Cannes Palmes d'or nominated OH, CANADA directed by Paul Schrader, JOYLAND, which premiered at TIFF and the CARD COUNTER starring Oscar Issac).
By the end of this lab, Tiffany will teach you how to create eye-catching pitch decks, put together personalized talent and director lists, build a solid financial package with business plans and sales projections to back your project. You’ll gain insights into crafting effective queries, navigating relationships with sales agents and distributors, and perfecting your pitch to industry stakeholders. With real-time feedback and guidance from Tiffany, you’ll walk away equipped to transform your creative vision into a compelling, market-ready film package that stands out in today’s competitive landscape.
This interactive Stage 32 lab is held on Zoom and goes substantially more in depth than a Stage 32 webinar. Best of all? As soon as you sign up you will be linked on email with Tiffany and given a questionnaire to fill out and send back to her. You will have access to her for the duration of your class by email to ask her any questions you have about your craft or career - it’s like having a mentor on demand! And, if you can't make a live session, don't worry! All class recordings will be available 48 hours after each session and you will be able to view them in your Library on your Stage 32 profile. Finally, you can expand your network with like-minded creatives - you'll have a dedicated lounge for interactive support and discussions with your fellow classmates!
