My impression is that a pitch deck involves both ideas and images. How do I go about building one for my Jolt Survival Tele Series?
Someone has asked to read one of my old screenplays. So I will give it a polish/fix to make sure it reflects current Craig.
This is the most important skill you can develop. The ability to gauge quality in your own writing.
Imagine a scenario where you are hired to write something, but have to pay for...
Expand postNot everyone but I believe most new screenwriters believe their first screenplays are good enough. After they have several under their belt they have to go back and rewrite them. At least that was how it was for me.
What I desire now when I ask people to read my work is their emotions, not technically advi...

Dear friends, my situation is similar. If you are willing to read my latest screenplay, you can send me the latest you have written yourself. For mutual reviews. I will try to find your worst error.

Are there screenwriting web sites in other countries than USA? Since I have already translated my screenplay into American English, it would not be that very problematical for me also to translate it into British English.
No, there is no such web site here in Sweden. I am myself a member at one Swed...
Expand postWriter-Producer here. Just turned in our latest draft, based on a round of notes, to the Head of Development at an A-lister's (rather prolific) ProdCo. Now begins the waiting period.
Need to clear my head a bit, so... Who has questions? Ask in comments and I'll answer as many as I can.
Hi James Sutherland. If we’re talking about features, I absolutely think you can pitch and sell to N. American markets from Tokyo (I’m in Prague).
The key is to get a rep (manager) in the market you h...
Expand commentThanks for the answer and thanks for having the pop-up AMA, Shaun O'Banion.
Is there a market for Fact-based drama (which correct me if I’m wrong, sounds like biographical) at the moment. The huge issue that I’ve been running into lately myself, is putting a lot of work into...
Expand commentHey Cameron Tendaji - Thanks for the question.
Hollywood is cyclical. Anything that isn’t popular at the moment will come back around. Example… in very recent history, you’d hear, “no WWII projects.”...
Expand commentFantastic Shaun O'Banion thank you for your time and the advice!
I just submitted my script last night, I submitted it to an executive, I am not looking to get the script in the door (which I do believe CAN happen), I am hoping that the first 10 pages makes them read more, OR, see if my first 10 pages do well. Since I was waiting more executives to pitch too (hop...
Expand postSydney Summers am I able to email that email with any questions with anything related to the website?
Way to go, Justin Groats - hopefully you get good feedback but you've already won the game by submitting and believing in your work..
When you say you submitted it, are you saying you submitted it for like staffing opportunities/writing assignments or just feedback in general?
Cameron Tendaji just feedback in general, I am confident in my whole idea, but I want to direct my pitch in the right direction
let’s say you want to go for a certain company, do you pitch to an executive here who worked or works with that company, or do I just pitch to whoever I can?
if anyone can answer this, thank!
I would pitch executives here at Stage 32. It's amazing access and the meeting starts with both parties in sync on why you are meeting. Shoot an email to success at Stage32.com and they can help you navigate to the best exec to pitch. Just my 2 cents.
Sam Sokolow I got my answer, I can just submit it to anyone, who at least can fit in the criteria of what my material is
Justin Groats i highly recommend doing research on the exec that you’re pitching to. If you’re under the impression that you’re pitching to a person that works for that particular company, sometimes t...

I'm traveling through Sweden for a week with my family. Yesterday we visited the beautiful historic town of Ystad. Every early morning, when everyone else is asleep, I write about and for my projects because (being) abroad gives me a lot of inspiration.

Hey there fellow creatives!
A week or so ago, I posted about how to manage a writing schedule when life is crazy and I got some really great responses. Today, I had a meeting with my screenwriting mentor to go over my rewrite pages and I asked him the same question: How do you work effectively when y...

Expand comment“The golden age of mod TV”- agree. I think we’re seeing some “safe” TV alternatives coming out of the strike but I have talked with some streamer buyers who are still willing to invest in unique stories, it has just pulled back in mass like how it was a couple of years ago.
I don't think we've entered the golden age of Mid TV, Pat Alexander. There are incredible shows out, like "Shōgun." And some people think mid shows are fantastic. It's really about opinion. As for the...
