Blackmagic Steals the Show at NAB: Launching Two High-End Cinema Cameras!

Blackmagic dropped a bombshell at NAB 2024, announcing not one, but two(!) high-end super-specs full-frame cinema cameras. The URSA Cine 12K Camera and the PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera. The URSA Cine features a revolutionary new sensor designed for incredible quality images at all resolutions from 4K to a massive 12K. The larger sensor builds on the technology of URSA Mini Pro 12K with larger photo-sites leading to an astounding 16 stops of dynamic range!

I love Blackmagic, however they always come up short with their releases. I have been begging them for a box camera for years. They finally release one but it has no internal NDs nor the ability to record anything but RAW. The price is good but I wouldn't touch it without those missing features. Might as well get a Pocket 6K pro for less money and more options.

As for the new flagship 12K, it's $8000 more than the super 35 version and offers hardly anything more beyond the larger sensor.

I'm puzzled. They have good products but do not listen to their customers which is quite irritating.
