Hi James, Cartoon and character voices isn't something that I know a lot about , but I can tell you this. Like any demo... you want it to be a true representation of what you can do... because you will have to live up to it. The other thing is... you really want to have someone else produce it for you. Unless you are a world beater of a producer yourself. Even then... we are too close to ourselves to be subjective. There are a lot of great demo producers out there. You just have to search them out and do your due diligence. As far as being near Disney and Nick.... Rodney Salisbury, who is a big name in the VO industry, often tells the story of when he was trying to get his first job doing television. He walk onto every lot at one of the major studios (might have been Paramount...not sure), but he was determined that he wasn't leaving until someone took his demo. He got hired that same day to do a boxing scene with Tony Danza on the show TAXI. Look him up...he is awesome! I wish you well... for character voices... look up Stevie Vallance.
