Success Stories: MAR'20 OWA Success

Michael Mulqueen

OWA Success

Saw an OWA that really fit with two things that I love a few months ago, golf and comedy. So I decided that I would begin to outline a film and see where it took me, dropping all my other bits of writing and acting I was doing at the time to give this my full focus.

Well fast forward from the outlining process to a few weeks ago, and my submission to the OWA has been put forward. I actually couldn't be happier. I ummed and ahhh'd about posting this, but thought it would serve as notice that if you find something you really enjoy writing, it will come across to others too.

Keep writing and creating.

Thanks to Stage 32 for this wonderful platform too. You've made a kid from London's whole month.

Keep us in the loop about any further progress, even if it's just a meeting.

Piper Williams

Love this! Congrats!

Alec Moore

Congrats! But they only give two weeks to submit. Did you outline and also write the full script in that time?

Michael Mulqueen

Alec Moore Yes. 9 hours a day for 8 days, then I had a break from looking at it, then a final couple of days really going through it with a fine tooth comb to make sure there wasn't anything glaring. Submitted 3am on my end to make sure it met the deadline.

Alana Gerdes

Michael Mulqueen Wow, very impressive effort on your part to write a script so quickly! Fingers crossed you get selected!
