Formatting Flubs: 10 Script Formatting Mistakes to Avoid - ScreenCraft
What are the most common script formatting mistakes that aspiring screenwriters make? Let's go over 10 of them.
Lindbergh E Hollingsworth

Thank you for this, Phillip! Too many screenwriters start off being ignorant (don't know) the formatting or just skip around. I've often told writers "you're not at that point of your career to start doing things your way so follow the formatting." And yes, it's true readers will hold formatting errors against you ... if you can't do something as simple as formatting how can you be trusted with telling a story or working with execs or a production team.

Lindbergh:

New screenwt are going to make mistakes. But you're correct. Newer and sometimes experienced screenwriters do themselves a disservice when they submit a work that lacks the requisite polish. Thanks for your post.

Good article. Sometimes Readers are ignorant, too. I got feedback on two of my scripts last month where the Readers criticized me for not including "END MONTAGE." A link in the article posted above AND David Trottier's "The Screenwriter's Bible" state it's not necessary if the montage is followed by a master scene heading. I think it's implied and a waste of space, but may have been penalized for it.

I copied that link for my to 'do list.. I already saw a few things I am doing that I need to stop..
