Most recently, Roy' feature script, The Morning After the Morning After has been awarded Best Feature status at the Seattle Filmmaker Awards Winter 2024, the Paris Lady MovieMakers Festival 2024, and theTamizhagam Internationals Film Festival 2023. Roy teaches Fiction Writing with Other Writers with the Vassar College LifeLong Learning Institute and provides tele therapy speech language therapy services with G and E Therapies in NYS.

Roy has written the scripts for five features, three shorts, and the pilot and the ten hour-long episodes of the Jolt Survival Tele Series. In 2022, Roy’s television pilot to the Jolt Saga of Survival Tele Series achieved Semifinalist in the ScreenCraft Virtual Pitch, Second Rounder in the ScreenCraft Film Fund, Quarter finalist in the Vail Film Festival Screenplay Competition, Quarterfinalist in the Vail film Festival Screenplay Competition 2022, and Finalist in the Script Summit Golden Age TV Pilot Competition.

Roy’s script, Two Close: a story of survival, achieved Quarterfinalist in the Pitch Now Screenplay Competition 2023, and Semifinalist in the ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition Book Competition 2022. Her script Home Again 2020 achieved Selected in the Chicago Screenplay Awards 2022, Honorable Mention in the New York Screenwriting Awards 2023, and is a Semi-Finalist in Consideration in the Phoenix Shorts 2023. Its sequel, The Morning After the Morning After is a Semifinalist in consideration in the New York International Women Festival and the Santa Cruz Independent Film Fest and a Quarter-Finalist in Consideration in the Wiki: The World's Fastest Screenplay Contest.

Roy’s novels in the Jolt Survival Trilogy won three writing awards: Home Again 2020 (Jolt Survival Trilogy Book 3) took the Gold Medal for Current Events II (Social Issues/Public Affairs/Ecological/Humanitarian) and Silver Medal for Multicultural Fiction in the Jenkins 2021 International eLit awards and a Bronze Medal as a Novel in the 2021 Jenkins International eLit Awards and Jolt: a rural noir (Book 1) took the 2011 Jenkins Living Now Inspirational Fiction Award. Two Close: a story of survival, is listed on the Red List as the #5 Sci-fi Book/Manuscript of 90,627 projects!

Roy’s book Slivers: Poems by Roberta M Roy, medaled in the 2020 Jenkins International eLit Awards in Poetry. Other books edited/written by Roy include The ALVA Axiom Interviews with Authors, Straight from the Robin’s Nest, and Two Close: a story of survival (Jolt Survival Trilogy: Book 3).

Roberta M Roy holds a B.A. in English from the State University College at Albany (SUNYA), an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska and has done post graduate study at the University of Michigan. Listed in upcoming edition of Marquis Who’s Who in America, Roy is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of New York. Roy resides in the Mid-Hudson Valley in New York State where she is the creative lead and owner operator of ALVA Press .
