About Stacy

Stacy Bannerman, MFA, is a writer/screenwriter of female-forward socially relevant screenplays and a super sassy Adult Animated TV Sitcom Pilot, BAMBO GOES POSTAL, a 2024 Creative Screenwriting Unique Voices Quarter-Finalist and on Coverfly’s The Red List. Her high-concept sports biopic, TITLE IX, the actual account of the first girl to wrestle on a boy’s team under the federal law, received Third Place in the STAGE 32 Period Piece Logline Contest. Stacy has a non-exclusive shopping agreement with a Director for her script, SAVING SPERO, featuring a strong, over-40 female lead in a true story about the war at home, the transformational healing power of the horse and the resurrection of the human spirit. Current projects include an environmental dramedy/female buddy film, ECO TRIP, and a trilogy of supernatural/sci-fi feature screenplays, THE ASCENSION RECORDS. Her autobiographical personal story is available for option: IN THE SHADOW OF THE DREAM is the powerful true story of the naïve young woman who became the first white Executive Director of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center and fought white supremacy and “reverse” discrimination as she helped shut down the Aryan Nations national headquarters. Stacy is the author of two books—Homefront 911 (2015) received a Kirkus Reviews Starred Review—a history-making performance art piece staged at the US Capitol, nearly 80 articles, and four bills, two of which became laws. A nationally known anti-war activist, she testified before Congress several times, and writes from her singular POV as a woman who spent a lifetime on the front lines of actions, advocacy and activism for racial justice, peace, gender equality, and climate. She lives on the edge of the grid in SW Virginia. Her website is
