About John

I’ve been involved with film since 2011 where I worked for a Production company called Eclectic Pictures until 2012. I performed script coverage, reviewed content for quality control and managed workflows for the creation of independent films.

In 2016 I received IMDB credit as a Production Assistant on an independent feature comedy called “Saint Francis; Monks in Robes” I also acted as an extra. In 2018, I produced an episode of a web series called “V for Valhalla” and in 2019 I produced a short film called “The Raft.”

In 2019, I started my own web series called “House of Johnnys” which is currently active on YouTube. Along with the series episodes I’ve also added two short films I wrote, directed and produced. I have a team that handles Lights, Sound, Editing, Musicians for Original Scores, Production Assistants and a Director of Photography.

Ever since high school I’ve been writing short stories, poems, one act plays and feature length screenplays but it’s only recently that I’ve made it as a Top Ten Finalist for a Screenwriting Competition. That script “Kitiara” is a fictional period piece set in 18th century Japan. After extensive research I’ve been able to capture the essence of feudal Japan in an encapsulating story that’s driven by a lesser known figure in our history. The female samurai known as the Onna Bugeisha has everything to offer today’s audience; action, suspense, inclusion, honor, a strong female lead and the importance of family and loyalty.

I look forward to pushing my ideas forward into the capable hands of those willing to work with me in my artistic endeavors.

Unique traits: I work underground on the subway tracks of NYC in the dead of night and I read and write during the day. No sleep required except for a few hours here and there. I went to SUNY Purchase in Westchester and received my Bachelors Degree in Screenwriting and Playwriting.
