About Mariia

After being a journalist for more than 8 years, I spent 4 years writing for TV dramas (television and radio company “Ukraine”). Afterwards I felt the urge to learn more to understand the screenwriting craft better.

I did two 15 week screenwriting workshops at New York Film Academy wrapping my screenplay for a feature film.

While constantly learning and practicing I can tell it’s my calling. I’m exceptionally good at:

- structuring the story, meeting expectations of the three acts, inciting incidents, midpoint, climaxes etc;
- creating characters, their storylines, adding conflicts between them;
- doing a scene-by-scene breakdown, building scenes with unexpected turns, putting buttons in the end of each scene;
- generally seeing how the scene should look like.

If you ask me what really makes me happy in this world, I’ll say creating scripts, characters, dialogues between them!and people reading it. I love all of it.
And cows and dogs. They also make me happy.
