About Andrew

Andrew Akler is a New York City based director, composer, and screenwriter. He discovered a deep love for music at a young age and pursued the craft into college. Andrew graduated from Hofstra University (2014) with a Bachelor of Science in Music Composition, specializing in film scoring techniques. It is here that Andrew’s passion for filmmaking started to grow.

In his senior year, Andrew wrote, directed, produced and composed for his first short film entitled Wake Me. The film won six awards at it’s premiere festival, including; Best In Show, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. It was then that Andrew knew he had found his passion.

Since then, Andrew has worked on furthering his craft; composing for a multitude of short films and web based media, writing several profound and deeply moving stories, and directing three more films that have taken the festival circuit by storm. His most recent film, Batman: Patient Zero recently took home the award for Best Short at the Paradise City Comic Con’s Super Geek Film Festival.

Andrew strives to deliver thought provoking, original and creative content while upholding a fun and respectable environment that makes working an experience, not a job.
