About Tanya

Hello there,

I am a Screenwriter, Director and Artist based in Niagara Falls, Canada. In June of 2018, I directed my first short film -- Dolphin Girl, after winning a Stage 32 Screenwriting Contest sponsored by the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Commission. 2019 was an exciting year for me doing the North American Film Festival tour. Dolphin Girl premiered at Hollyshorts and was a part of many other festivals including Raindance UK, Austin, TBuff, and Toronto International Shorts. Hollyshorts was probably my favorite because I watched Dolphin Girl on the big screen for the first time, met some other very talented filmmakers, and spent time with RB and Amanda Toney -- my two favorite Stage 32 people!

My film making took a hit during the two years of Covid lockdowns; probably true for many of us. I had to shelve the short film I was in development with, but life goes on and so does filmmaking! Currently, I have just completed a feature-length script that I am very excited about. It feels good to be excited again. It's titled: BREAK MY FALL, and it is a coming-of-age drama set in Niagara Falls, Canada; my stopping grounds. STAY TUNED!

All the best,

Tanya
