About April

Originally from New Jersey, April relocated to Los Angeles in 2017 after a long career as a real estate agent. The business of selling houses not only gave April the privilege of helping hundreds of people write new chapters in their lives but it also provided an authentic glimpse into how humans grieve, love and triumph in often tumultuous periods of life.

April’s body of work centers on and explores the emotional, physical and social hurdles that many women face as they approach the conflicts of midlife, such as aging, children, infertility, sexuality, divorce, career and starting over. She writes mainly in the Romantic Comedy, Dramedy and Drama genres.

April's screenplays Romper Room, It Had to Be You, To Have and to Hold, and Big Blind have appeared on several semi and quarter-final competition lists in the last eighteen months, such as Screencraft Comedy Contest, Stage 32 Comedy Contest, Los Angeles International Screenwriting Competition and Table Read My Screenplay. She also recently completed a script polish/rewrite on a film entitled Without A Goodbye, a true story about a young, Indian woman who fakes her own suicide in an attempt to leave her emotionally and physically abusive arranged marriage. April will act as and receive credit as an Associate Producer on this project.

In addition to several feature samples, April can also write both multi and single camera television, which landed one of her original pilots, House and Home, at ABC Comedy for 2019 pilot season consideration.

April graduated from Bucknell University with a double major in Psychology and Women's Studies. She furthered her studies in screenwriting at Jacob Kreuger Studio in New York and most recently completed her Certificate in Screenwriting: TV and Film Comprehensive from UCLA Extension.
