About Richard

I have a degree in psychology from U.C. Berkeley; a post-grad one-year course at UCLA in substance abuse counseling to facilitate working with skid row alcoholics and drug addicts; a law degree, and law practice as a district attorney, and then public defender (retired).

After retirement, a wrote three (3) children's stories, and adapted one into a feature family screenplay.

The screenplay is about a troubled pre-teen surfer (BEN) who discovers a friendly dolphin (BOOMER) speaks English by mimicking surf talk, is inspired to teach Boomer everything about us; but when Boomer discloses he needs Ben to stop a proposed massive oil pipeline project threatening the local ocean, Ben must convince friends, family, politicians and scientists of the problem, and then expose corruption and bribery at the highest levels of government, and in the process, overcome his disability and gain the respect of his renowned, but distant, scientist father.
