About Deepak

I'm Deepak Ramachandra, born and raised in Kundalpura but now based in Bangalore, where I weave the rich tapestry of regional stories into compelling cinematic experiences. My passion lies in crafting realistic narratives driven by authentic characters, spanning across the genres of drama, comedy, and action.

Some of my notable works include the award-winning "Anamadheya Appayamma" (2018), the critically acclaimed "Appan Direction Hair style by Krishnanna" (2020), and the web series "Ajja Helad Ajji Kathi" (2023). Through these projects, I strive to not only entertain but also to provoke thought and evoke emotion.

Drawing inspiration from filmmakers like Mira Nair, Guy Ritchie, and Shankar Nag, I founded Bhitthichitra Cinemas with a mission to amplify diverse voices in independent cinema. For me, storytelling is a powerful tool that transcends boundaries and connects us all on a deeper level.

My motto, "Before flesh and bones, humans are woven from stories," encapsulates my dedication to authentically representing the narratives of my homeland and sharing them with the world. Through my work, I aim to leave a lasting impact and inspire others to embrace the power of storytelling.
