About Janet

Dog training is my day job. I have 30+ years experience in obedience training, behavior modification, and animal talent wrangling for television commercials and advertising print work (McDonald's- Mexican television, Bank United, Harold's Department Stores). On Season 4 of Married at First Sight on the A&E Channel (now on Lifetime), I appeared on two episodes as Nick and Sonja's dog trainer.

As a songwriter, I've been fortunate to have had several indie artists record my work, including The Livesays, Kaitlyn Baker, Bill Maier, Lori Morrison, Leah Durelle, Tom Shed, Bernie Early, and Billy Dean. My song, "I Think I Can See Love From Here" was placed in the award-winning short film, "Something Beautiful," which was shown at the Miami International Film Festival. I also have a song placement("Improbably Blue") in the new documentary, "Americart 2019" that is an official selection at the 2020 Cheslea Film Festival, 2020 Chicago Indie Film Awards, and the 2021 Southeast Film Festival.

For nearly a decade I worked as a music journalist writing album and single reviews, as well as interviews, for Music News Nashville and The 9513 music blog. Since 2014, I've written two monthly columns and many cover stories for Miami's Biscayne Times.

I am currently at work writing screenplays. Loglines for "Love on Main Street" and "The Defiant Cemeterians" can be viewed below.
