About Sardia

Sardia is an authentic, award-winning Jamaican writer, actress and producer. She is a leader in shifting the narrative for Jamaicans in Hollywood and working steadily to bring diverse, complex genuine characters to television, film and the stage.

At age 5 she was writing and performing in skits and plays for her friends. She got her first professional acting credit in the legendary, Jamaican kid’s show RING DING WITH MISS LOU. As a young teenager, she immigrated to Chicago and overcame significant struggles and hardships. She proudly graduated from Columbia College, Chicago, with a BA in theatre. After gaining traction and recognition in the Chicago theatre and stand-up comedy scene, Sardia moved to Hollywood.

While writing and performing sketch comedy and directing well renowned theatre productions, she began to produce for television and film. Her TV series and short films found distribution and success. She continued to develop her own on screen acting skills and build credits while finishing and eventually touring internationally with her critically acclaimed, autobiographical one-woman show, FROM A YARDIE TO A YANKEE.
Through her writing and performances in YARDIE, Sardia brings to life the gripping, gut-wrenching true story of her courageous journey from the murderous streets of Kingston, Jamaica, to the deadly consequences of Chicago's drug wars. It is a story filled with 15 different characters, all based on real people. Audiences and critics have raved about this one-woman theatrical experience in New York, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, the Bahamas and of course, Jamaica. Sardia deeply affects audiences and is often asked when she is going to write a story for television that is based on her true stories and experiences…one that combines strong, dramatic narratives and changes the way the world sees and experiences Jamaican drama, beauty, family life, culture and struggles.

That time is now, with the development and release of her new screenplays. Her experience as a writer, producer and highly sought-after actress, combined with her dedication to extend, elevate and connect the human experience, as told from her unique Jamaican American experiences, are moments audiences have been waiting for.
