About Drew
I am the author of The Darkness Within A Memoir about my life. The abuse that I endured at the hands of my father growing up, the strength and resilience that I have had to get to the other side of my trauma. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Graduated from university with a bachelors of Psychology. I have worked in two residential mental health facilities as a mental health worker. I also have worked in foster care as a foster care case worker on the South side and West side of Chicago. I wrote my first memoir at 44 years old and am published with New Degree Press. My memoir is now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I am now a full time author with the hopes of turning my memoir into a film. To help others who struggle silently due to the stigma our society has about mental illness and health.
Unique traits: Driven and hardworking when I want something I go after it. I am very persistent and follow my goals until they are attained. I am always on time I am a very dependable person I always give 100% to any project that I am working on. I have the gift of gab, I can always have an articulate conversation about the topic being discussed. Whether it is in a big group or one on one. I am a people connector whenever I meet someone new. I always have the ability to listen to that person and get to know what they are about. I have always had the ability to connect with many people on different levels.
