About Aybüke

A heavy sleeper by day, an existentialist rambler and a writer by night, I studied Western Languages and Literatures in Boğaziçi University in Turkey without giving a thought to what I was going to do after graduation. I have been writing all kinds of stories since I was in elementary school and I was known to those around me as the "Writer." That title always pushed me into working on my creative vision and encouraged me to think that it could be something more, like a career, as I grew up. I was pushed into considering other 'feasible' and 'realistic' jobs as I got older but my mind has always wandered into the territory of writing and creativity. As part of who I am, how I grew up and as part of my education, I have always been interested in arts, not just writing, but also other branches of art like performative arts, music, painting, films and TV shows. I am an amateur violinist who has worked as a classical music concert assistant with many talents from all around the world, a painter and a DIY enthusiast who likes to turn simple object to works of art. Since I graduated, I started to think about how I could use my various skills and passions in my future career and decided that a career in the entertainment industries, especially as a screenwriter, is something where I could combine all of these to reach my full potential. Previously, I had always worked on writing prose fiction but I thought that some of my stories could actually work better as scripts and it would be so great to expand a story, not only in words but also visually and with sound and music to unravel a plot or a character which pushed me into screenwriting as a future career. Now I work to improve myself in the entertainment industries by taking online classes, participating in webinars and expanding my network by connecting to creatives all around the world. I like traveling to places that inspire me to write, researching a lot to improve the quality of my work, baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies at 4 am after a sleepless night and writing in the early quiet hours of morning with a cup of coffee.
