Being a freelance screenwriter, I know that the gift of creativity was given to me at birth, each time I pick up a pen and let my thoughts graze the paper, I’m captivated by my ability to tell a tale. The very first time I wrote an actual script I was about eight years old. I vividly remember my father, a tech geek, buying me one of my first computers and me willingly missing out on sleep to spend hours at a time spinning stories I had constructed in my head into words that were detailed enough to paint an image. By age ten I was claiming screenwriting as a hobby of mine and it was in junior high I decided I was going to do whatever was necessary to pursue a career in my greatest passion and become a filmmaker. My hopes of working in the film industry were so deep they persuaded me to pursue a degree in Communications, from THE Prairie View A&M University, in Prairie View, Texas. My time at PV proved itself to be beneficial as I learned the basics of filmmaking while rubbing shoulders with like-minded individuals that only helped me enhance my skills and provided me with experiences I now deem necessary to my growth as a creative. Growing up in Seattle was never really ideal for me, especially during my childhood, as I always felt like it didn't provide me with the experiences I yearned for growing up to create depth in my personality. This taught me to seek an escape through writing by creating the moments I wished to live and the people I wished to involve myself with, within my writing.
