About Tate

Tate Hamilton is a bi TV and screenwriter who has recently held roles as a showrunner's assistant at Starz, and as an executive assistant/coordinator at several prominent literary management companies. He has placed as a quarterfinalist or above in screenwriting competitions hosted by Austin Film Festival, The Tracking Board, Final Draft, and the PAGE Awards, and currently works as a screenplay analyst for Stage 32.

Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan as the son of two journalists, Tate grew up accompanying his parents on interviews and photo shoots, and spent his spare time trying to write the most realistic-sounding dialogue possible for his short stories about monsters. He discovered his love for screenwriting in college while pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering, and continues to incorporate elements of his science background into his writing projects, with the goal of creating work that is surprising, unique, and meaningful.

In his spare time, he plays 7 different instruments and composes music for a variety of ensembles, including symphony orchestra and jazz ensemble. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, whom he has been in love with since junior high.
