About Melissa

I enjoy taking notes about pre-existing shows, and I love developing new concepts from scratch. My interest in screenwriting came from my love as a fan for other shows, being invested in characters and their storylines as they brought various emotions out of me as I watched their story progress. I love the supernatural/fantasy/sci-fi element as anything can happen with imaginative mythologies. I love the MCU for its crossover element for all these characters and how intricate the storylines can be over many different projects. I am a stickler for narrative continuity, so if a story's mythology contradicts itself, I'm all over it!

I am an Asian-Canadian screenwriter that graduated as the screenwriting program's valedictorian. I have studied the structures for feature films, made-for-TV movies, one-hour TV dramas, and half-hour TV sitcoms. I enjoy helping other screenwriters develop their concepts while being excited for my own projects. My brain works faster than my hands when it comes to typing, so more ideas come to me before I have time to write them down.

Currently I'm rewriting the pilot for my TV drama, I have the pilot written for my TV comedy, I have one feature script that I want to adapt into a TV drama, I have a beat sheet for a TV movie, I'm writing for a video game and a graphic novel, and I'm adapting a novel into a TV anime with the novelist. I'm also editing my short film for post-production, even though it's not my forte but I'm giving it a try.

Unique traits: I can remember and pinpoint specific storylines for "Supernatural" (15 seasons worth of material).
