ONCE A HOMECOMING QUEEN

ONCE A HOMECOMING is a female driven story based on my book of the same name - a tour de force for an older actress. The protagonist is a hell on wheels 75 year old alcoholic. She's funny, she's redeemable and she's dying. The story pushes the limits of senior addiction - society's best kept secret - a section of our population that is ignored until you can't ignore repercussions to society. Looking for a female director/producer/fabulous older actress (Glenn Close). Just finished speaking at a conference on adapting your novel into a screenplay. She’s funny.

SYNOPSIS:

ONCE A HOMECOMING QUEEN is a story about Francine Freeman, a seventy-five-year-old alcoholic, who in the last two years twice fell down the stairs in her home and lived another day. Recovery takes Francine in an unexpected direction and offers her a chance at redemption.

Set in Grand Rapids, near Lake Michigan. Francine Fisher-Reynolds-Richelli-Fisher’s journey began at eighteen when she was crowned the high school homecoming queen. That memory was the highlight for her life. However, the last two years have been particularly less glamorous than the memory of wearing a crown. In between taking in strays—animal and human—Francine has fallen twice down a staircase in her home, falls caused by a combination of cocktails and old age. Fortunately, the hell-on-wheels senior has her family and fellow addicts, a rehab doctor, a prison warden, and a pharmacist who adores her (think Harold and Maude) to get her through her days. She also has her sense of humor at the ready (think Phyllis Diller) to ward off the naysayers. But will it be enough for her to stop self-sabotaging, and return to a life with dignity?

Hi there, Joan and super intriguing! However, this does read more like a tagline than a logline.

Think of taglines as the alluring phrase that you'd see at the top of a movie poster. It's kinda mysterious (like what you wrote) and grabs your attention, but doesn't really say much about the movie itself. Whereas a logline is essentially the shortest possible summary of your entire movie, two sentences max.

ie: "A young F.B.I. cadet must confide in an incarcerated and manipulative killer to receive his help on catching another serial killer who skins his victims."

I hope that this is helpful!
