About Joan

Screenwriter, Author, Speaker, Blogger

I attended the American Film Institute as a producing fellow. I have two master’s degrees: Theater and Education. I taught acting and theater history at UNLV. After my career goals were not met, I founded a year-round professional theater in Las Vegas and became its artistic director. Later I turned to film and worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood for fifteen years. Some of my screenplays are Sex Crimes. The Death of the Red Line, Cross Dreams, Women Obsessed, and The Last Days of Che Guevara. I’ve also written a memoir, 60, Sex & Tango, Confessions of a Beatnik Boomer, a book of my blogs entitled I’m the Boss of Me! Stay Sexy, Smart & Strong at Any Age; and novels—An Accidental Cuban, presently being represented and pitched to streaming platforms (STARZ), Once A Homecoming Queen, and Women Obsessed.
