About Gil

Gil Luna has worked on many movies including the award-winning feature film, Population: 2, which screened at several festivals and was released worldwide. Luna is now a writer for “TheAsylum” Films - a well-known American independent film production and distribution company very famous for successfully capitalizing on productions by major studios, often using film titles and scripts similar to those of big-budget blockbusters in order to draw audiences. Its titles are distributed by Echo Bridge Home Entertainment, GT Media, and as of 2015, Cinedigm. The studio is best known for producing the Sharknado film series and the Syfy original series, Z Nation. Luna has been working in the industry for nearly 30 years collecting several awards and is considered a dedicated artist and filmmaker using his myriad of experiences to address controversial issues in his projects. Just like the independent film The Exorcist broke many barriers years ago (and a handful of other movies as well) by pushing the boundaries past what most studios would accept, Luna wants to push the boundaries to the limit with this film making it memorable and hopefully very profitable. His latest, The Bobbsey Twins Go to Hell, is a timely movie with a proof of concept“no-budget” short version of the film that Luna wrote and directed 18 years ago. The underground film, never seen by public audiences, generated high marks and praise from the local community, and several of the film’s cast & crew are eager to return for this new feature-length version of the movie.
