Fortnite Music Editing

I posted this on the Intro Wall, but relevant here too! I am primarily a film composer working on film and advertising, but I was asked to join an audio team to chop/edit/rearrange/deliver playable stems from popular songs to be used in the latest chapter of Fortnite, for a mode called Jam Stage in...

Still a cool piece of history to be involved in. Probably a fun gig and you pick up a few editing chops to boot. Yet another hat to wear!! lol

I just watched some videos of Jam Stage, Chris Joye. It looks like a fun mode. A video I watched has a Gangnam Style remix. It's a great remix. One of the characters in the video is a Ninja Turtle. Ha...

From Eire/Ireland - Another post for a lazy Sunday. This is one of my favourite U2 songs, but this time ‘Running to Stand Still’ is an acoustic piece sang by The Edge.

My romance with words goes back decades, to a time when I was a singer/songwriter. In the 80s, I travelled to LA for the Olympics and...

It's been so long since I've seen "Duck Tales," Nicolás Repetto. I need to revisit it. Did Ron Jones write the theme song?

Nicolás Repetto

Maurice Vaughan If I remember correctly, he just wrote the underscore for the TV show, not the main title song.

Maurice Vaughan

Ok, gotcha, Nicolás Repetto. Hope everyone has a great time at the score study!

Elena Maro

Thank you, Nicolás Repetto :)

Ashley Renee Smith

Welcome, Nicolás Repetto! I'm so glad to see you here in the Composing lounge! Thank you for sharing about your score study.

If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the documentary Tim’s Vermeer. I watched it just to hear Conrad’s score, but it also gave me the crazy idea to buy art supplies and a few things from Edmund Optics.

Newbie question

Hi everyone. I’m new to all of this and would love to get advice from professionals in the industry.

My question is, are there any scenarios where I can maintain some creative control over my story and select some of the music if I sell my life rights?

Thanks so much!

Linwood Bell

You'd negotiate or have someone go to bat for you, I imagine. :)

Sourcing Royalty-Free music for short film

Hi. Where is a good website to source music (at a decent price) for a short film that I am hoping to sell to a distributor?

BlindººCoyote (Drem Bruinsma)

I can subscribe to that. Give those young music composers a chance. They are present on the web with their personal pages and lots of music excerpts from their catalogue to get an idea of the style and genre they are working in!

Amanda Toney

I second Pond5 - it is a great resource used by many of my colleagues.
