This is excellent news! Congratulations everyone who has script requests and meeting requests. I recognize many names on that list and the thing they all have in common is that they work their butts off and keep pushing their scripts forward. Keep it up everyone and please keep us posted!

Congratulations to all writers!

The Importance of Proper Script Formatting

Stephanie Moore talks about the importance of proper script formatting in today’s blog. She also mentions some formatting resources. Helpful blog, especially for new screenwriters.

The Gauntlet Update

Got an update today. Submitted on March 6 and Level 1 should be complete by June 3 - taking a while due to flood of submissions when program was launched. So far they've answered every question promptly and respectfully. Good people, I think. Cheers.

Thanks for the update, Matthew Kelcourse.

Three months for human feedback is way too long, especially when you are paying for a service.

Script Swap / Notes?

Working on a psychological thriller and did some rework on it, could use a fresh set of eyes.

It's a modern day adaptation of "Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde."

What do you mean with a swap? If you mean "I send comments on your screenplay if you do the same for me", then contact me. English is not my native language so I need help with proofreading. It typically takes me a few days to send my comments on other people's scripts.

Dateline NBC contacted me about my story told on YouTube!

I was contacted a while ago when someone from Dateline NBC saw my YouTube video telling the story of how I solved my fugitive sister's murder. They had interest in doing a Dateline on my story, but it has been months since anyone got back to me. I didn't solicit them; they contacted me. How long is too long to wait for them to get back?

Jane Shebroe

Thanks, will do!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Jane Shebroe. Hope you hear great news!

Jason Mirch

Hey Jane, I agree with Maurice and just to follow up on that - this also gives your story new momentum. If Dateline is interested that may spark other docuseries and even fiction or true crime producers to take interest. Use this to tease others. It will help.

Rutger Oosterhoff

Stage32 written pitches. Does the professional really take 3 months to get back to the writer?

I'm starting to see the benefit to the live pitch because at least it happens on that day but waiting months to get back to someone's One Page pitch is a long wait. Everyone okay with this?

Bill Albert

Are you sure you got that right? It's never taken more than a few weeks for a response from a pitch. If they request a reading and you send them a script that can take months.

Pat Savage

OWA submission - thanks S32 :-)

Over the last few weeks, one of my fave scripts (heck, they're all faves, right?), an ensemble action/sci-fi has been submitted to two OWA execs here at 32, recommended to several other houses, and placed in a few springtime competitions.
