Happy August, LA-based creators!
After last month's successful meet-up, we're so excited to see you all again at Jameson's this month! Let's come back together in person ahead of this month's "Introduce Yourself Weekend" starting Friday, Aug. 18th in our Introduce Yourself Lounge.
NOT IN LA? Why not host an in-person meet-up in YOUR area?! Email COMMUNITY@stage32.com to learn more!
While this is a great opportunity to network and meet new people in the industry, this is also the best time to check in with community members you have already met and support each other. Take a moment to reach out with a direct message before you meet in person to start the conversation today!
Join me, Kay Ross (Emily will be unavailable for this one), for an evening of fun and conversation with your fellow directors, screenwriters, producers, actors, cinematographers, editors, and other industry creatives! This event will last until 9:00 pm but you're welcome to stay and enjoy the live music afterward.
REMINDER: Jameson's offers table service, so while you can order your drink from the bar, if you're ordering food, please find a table and stay there!
Upon arrival, please check in, grab a nametag, and get an official photo! YOU CAN NOW TAKE AND POST A PHOTO IN THE UPDATED STAGE 32 APP! *Groot Gasp!* You'll be directed inside from there. Don't wait to network! Direct Message attendees NOW to see if you want to continue the conversation in person!
Also, in years past, we've been able to accept donations so our networking events can do twice the good of normal industry parties. This month, we would love to accept any canned or packaged foods to donate to the LA Food Bank!
When you check in as you enter, we'll have a box to accept food donations: hot or cold cereals, dry and canned beans, canned soups, stews, peanut butter, tuna, and canned fruits and vegetables. Whatever you can give is greatly appreciated! And then you'll have your hands free to grab food, a drink or three, and get networking!
Finally, Be sure to post pictures of yourself at the event and use the hashtag #iamStage32 for a special drawing that evening. Don't forget to tag @stage32 @stage32scripts, @RBwalksintoabar, @emilyjwrites, and @k.osswrites on your social posts so everyone knows where the #Stage32 #PartyforGood is!
If you're interested in volunteering for the event, please email me with VOLUNTEER in the subject line: K.Ross@stage32.com.
I just modified the time - please take a look if you are planning to attend.
Yeah, I don't know what happened, but it was supposed to be listed for the 17th, y'all. DATE HAS BEEN CORRECTED!
Why is every single LA meetup in Culver City or on the West side? This is incredibly inconvenient. Will there ever be a more centrally located meet-up, like in Hollywood? I'll never come to one in Culver City, and I can guarantee I'm not the only one. Make this more accessible!
Thanks for organizing this Karen. I love Beth’s idea of holding the next one is a different location. I’m not sure if I can come this month but I’d be really happy to join next month if you choose yo do it again. I love this idea!!

Thanks for the suggestion, @Beth ! Los Angeles is a big city, so it's hard to be everywhere at once. Honestly, we're hoping to host more in-person meet-ups around the world to help make the Introduce Yourself Weekend a regular event for all on the platform. So, if we're helping other members host another meet-up on the same day across the globe, I don't see why we can't help you host one across town. If you find the location that works for you, email me to coordinate so we can set you up with some Stage 32 items to make it official! K.Ross@stage32.com
If you don't have time in the next few days to get it set up, you can start looking for a location for next month's in-person meet-up on Thursday, Sept. 14th. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
@Karin - We rotate each month between Jameson's in Culver City and The Phoenix in Beverly Hills. To maintain our very good relationship with both of them, we've kept it to just those two, but will happily support other in-person meet-ups hosted by members across town!
Hi! I missed it. When is the next one happening?
