Screenwriting : I Got a Manager!!! by Anthony McBride

I Got a Manager!!!

Well, I've had a manager for about a month now and it's everything my peers told me it would be--more work. I must say that I work harder with a manager than without a manager which is a good thing. It's a 3-month deal which means we both have the option to dissolve the relationship at the end of the year. Anyway, since I've been with this manager, I've pitched several projects and producers to them. They said that they promoted me to several producers, but no response. Stay tuned. Who has experience working with managers?

Ryu Reeves

congrats! Yea, working with a manager is a lot of work because their job is to make sure you get to that next level in your career. Sounds to me like you got a good deal going so far, but how long has it been since they've gotten back to you?

Brandon Crowson

Congrats! When I was 4 walling my 1st feature all over, I had a couple people trying to secure funding for my next project but neither had any luck. I hope it works out! I'd kill to have someone reliable feeding me steady writing/directing/editing work.

Maurice Vaughan

Congratulations on getting a manager, @Anthony McBride! I had a manager way back. He was great. He taught me things about the business and got me opportunities, but I still looked for opportunities. So, yeah, when a writer gets a manager, the work doesn't stop.

Right on! Now it is real work. Good Luck!

Im going back to a hobbyist!

Hey, glad to know you're working with manager. Could you also help me out to find a manager or an agent? I'm starting out as a screenwriter and looking dor someone to pitch my script. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you and Good luck

Anthony McBride

Hey Darshan Jaju. The best I can do is to encourage you to do a few pitch sessions through Stage32. Also, network as much as possible and ask everyone you come into contact with if they know of any managers. Good Luck.

Alana Gerdes

This is great, congratulation! I hope it all works out for you and keep us posted!

Sam Mannetti

Way to go Anthony!! Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

Bravo, Anthony! Best of luck! As for myself, I plan on taking a quick shortcut to representation. Walmart is having a sale on Lit Managers during their National Black Friday event this year. Plus, I'm going in armed with a 20% off coupon. Win-Win!
