About Steven

Started out as an actor cast in Major Payne. Then after a TV show I was on was cancelled I used the money I got to make my own film Smiling Fish&Goat on Fire, which won Toronto Film Festival Discovery Award and started my writing career. I became a Sundance Filmmaking Lab fellow alumnus after my second script Lymelife was accepted. Lymelife won the FIPRESCI award in 2008. After years of writing for studios and producers and staffing on TV shows such as South Beach and Flash Gordon, I focused on a dream project which came close to fruition but ultimately was too expensive to make, so after a period of crushing broken heartedness about things that were totally out of my control, I decided to go back to my indie roots and write an indie domestic dramedy that could be made low budget. When I attended a stage 32 event in LA at the Pikey (best burgers in town) I won the chance to send my script in to a fellowship and get notes. But I had a strong feeling that I just needed to make the film myself, so I did, shooting in spurts over the course of a year. Luckily we finished right before Covid Quarantine began and editing now. Looking to meet like minded film folks who want to make and sell unique quality film and tv.
