Screenwriting : Favorite writing spot by Rachel Troche

Rachel Troche

Favorite writing spot

I read Agatha Christie's favorite place to churn out stories was her bathtub.

My home gym is my new favorite spot to write - this way I can take out my plot frustrations on the heavy bag.

Where's your favorite spot to write?

What are you working on today?

Maurice Vaughan

My favorite spot to write is my room, Rachel Troche. I worked on a feature spec script today. What are you working on?

Rachel Troche

Love that Maurice Vaughan . I'm bouncing between my feature spec script and a new short script.

Maurice Vaughan

That's great, Rachel Troche. What genres are your scripts?

Rachel Troche

The feature spec is straight drama- it's a reinterpretation of the trials of Hercules told from the perspective of a military spouse. the short is more of a drama/thriller mash up about a teenager staying awake all night during his family member's traditonal Spanish wake - this one will be in both Spanish and English as an old world/new world juxtaposition

Amanda Toney

My favorite place is my office desk with a candle. Total zen and total zone.

Mark Giacomin

If I'm at my flat, sat with my laptop at a glass table in front of a window (I like a good dose of natural light). If I'm in London (I usually have a notebook and pen) there are plenty of seating areas on the various levels in the National Theatre. Last time I was in London, I sat in the aptly named 'Fountain & Ink' pub with a pint of beer as an additional muse.

Mainly doing small to middling rewrites on various scripts, although I have a couple of new scripts trying to break through the virtual door in my mind because they want to play.

Rachel Troche

Amanda Toney that sounds dreamy

Rachel Troche

Mark Giacomin natural light is the best. The Fountain and Ink pub sounds amazing - we have a bookstore around here that used to be an old movie theater that I love to write in when I get a chance. I love buildings with charm and character

Maurice Vaughan

Your scripts sound unique, Rachel Troche! Especially the feature!

Dan MaxXx

When the weather is really hot, I l go to write at hotel lobbies. free wifi, AC, and sometimes the staff puts out free snacks.

Rachel Troche

Dan MaxXx I love that idea! Might try it so I can listen for dialogue inspiration

Matthew Kelcourse

Our gazebo :-)

Evelyn Von Warnitz

My favorite writing place is in my writing shell, just a desk. Values up when my fluffy felidae writing guard tenderly comes close. Together getting the flow is priceless.

Jim Boston

Rachel, my bedroom's my one writing spot...it's where I've placed my Power Mac G5 computer (the one with Final Draft 6).

Dan, I admire your guts when it comes to walking into hotel lobbies to write!
