About Jacqueline

Jacqueline Elyse Rosenthal began this career as an actress for 23 years and wrote screenplays privately from the wings since childhood. She received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Penn State and is currently in her last semester of her MFA in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California, pursuing writing and directing. Jacqueline is now an award-winning writer/director, with a ten-year career in directing independent films and commercials. She recently was named Best Director and Best Writer at the 7th Annual Feminist Media Festival, for her film BACKLOG about the national rape kit backlog.

Jacqueline makes films as if her life depends on them - because truly it does. Through the challenges in her life, film kept her going in her need to help others feel less alone and lend a voice to those like her who once felt voiceless.

Jacqueline’s film Til We Meet Again was recently acquired by Omeleto, starring Howie Mandel and Sashile Wood. She is currently a Lit/Management Intern at Circle of Confusion and previously interned at Mandalay Pictures, under Jason Michael Berman. She is in post-production on Karma, her feature directorial debut.

Jacqueline is a recipient of 7 merit scholarships at the University of Southern California and completed 13 teaching assistant positions in three years. She enjoys writing biopics and science fiction films, all of which have a strong thread of protecting human rights. When not working, you can bet she’s spending time with family, hiking, or relaxing at home in Silver Lake with her partner and their two small dogs.
