About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Quinn is a writer and improviser based in Los Angeles with over 15 years of experience. Prior to moving to the west coast, Elizabeth resided in New York City where she spent two years as a member of the Peoples Improv Theater house team, The Wilhelm. The Wilhelm performed at several Improvisation Festivals in the U.S. and created the Film Noir improvisation stage show: In The Dark. She also performed with Lorie Steele as one half of the female, two-person improv team STEELE/QUINN which was nominated for a 2011 INNY from Improvisation for best comedy duo. In 2012, she founded and co-produced the inaugural Unscripted New York: Improvised Theatre Festival along with Heather Lutkin and Artistic New Directions.

Her TV writing has won awards and recognition from Scriptapalooza ("What Happens in Vegas" - Arrested Development Spec Script), Austin Film Festival ("Most Likely To Succeed" - original TV Sitcom Pilot) and The PAGE Awards ("Going Reno" - original TV Drama Pilot). She was a 2012 semi-finalist in the ABC/Disney TV Writing Fellowship program. Elizabeth continues to write television scripts and perform/teach improvisation throughout Los Angeles.

She has studied improvisation with teachers from Upright Citizens Brigade, Second City, The Groundlings, and The Peoples Improv Theater. She has studied television writing with J.R. Havlan (The Daily Show), Tom Purcell (The Colbert Report), and Mort Scharfman (All in the Family).

She was the co-creator/host/producer of Improvised New York, a podcast devoted to interviews and discussions with members of the New York improvisation community. The podcast was nominated for a 2011 INNY from Improvisation for best improv website.

As a member of The Lab Rats, she helped create the feature-length improvised film, Unscrewed, which received accolades at several international film festivals and premiered at the Quad Theater in New York in February 2005.
