Just a reminder of who I am and encourage anyone who has an equine film to enter your film into this year's Tryon International Film Festival. For the last few years I have been the Worldwide Equestrian Correspondent for the EQUUS Television Network, so if you film has anything to do with horses I'm your expert. The Tryon International Film Festival wants more equestrian films entered. They have all kinds of categories where all kinds of films can be entered and in addition some special awards for equine films, but they aren't limited to the equine world. Visit their website for more details or reach out to me for more details. I'm also an equine journalist who will be covering my 10th Olympic Games this year in Paris. I also am a part time actress who loves to dance and this year was featured in Ajantha's Independent Girls Music Video. I handle my brother's location properties on Long Island, especially his mansions but also his residential properties. So, if you are looking for a place to shoot your next film on Long Island, we've got what you need. I'm very much into recycling and as such have ended up selling a lot of props to productions because I often have year appropriate items. I love international travel so wouldn't mind doing a part in another country as an actress. I also do numerous virtual interviews as well as in person interviews for the EQUUS Television Network and interview all the filmmakers that are accepted into the annual Tryon International Film Festival. I would love to take a moment to introduce myself and my project. I am one of the Executive Producers on an 8 part Docu-series on the fight for marriage equality, called “Just Married”.

We have spent years researching and developing the treatment and are finally at the pitching stage for production and distribution partners. It’s been a long road, but Stage 32 has been very helpful in advancing us along… now I’m hoping to meet some members to chat with and possibly help as well.

Hello Dreamers! Nice to meet you.

My name is David. I’m a former journalist and movie critic attempting to become a professional screenwriter. I haven’t picked a particular niche yet, as I have a pilot that’s a sci-fi comedy, an action script based on a true story, and an elevated Comedy/Dramedy. The action script is an outlier as I prefer to blow up cliches, not jungles, planes and people – but that story fell into my lap and has historical significance, so the story demanded I write it, and when a story speaks to me, I listen. Things SEEM to be trending in the right direction and Stage 32 is playing an important role.

I’m going to shoot ya straight. This place… is f’n great. I originally came here after I googled a formatting question. Then discovered that you could verbally pitch lots of accomplished and interesting people. At that point, I hadn’t even realized that you could participate in all sorts of conversations in the various lounges, make friends and learn hacks with everyday food and appliances you already have in your home! Hmmm… I think I just conflated Stage 32 with Facebook Stories.

Being a writer often feels like a lonely and frustrating vocation. Stage 32 fixes that issue, if you allow it to. There’s so much great free advice here and plenty of people who’ve succeeded who are willing to share what worked for them. It goes without saying, but when you participate in conversations, you make friends and find like-minded people whose journey may reflect yours. If you can afford it, The Writer’s Room is an outstanding resource, BUT the pitching. THE PITCHING. If you’re open to it, I HIGHLY recommend buying pitches (I’m team Skype/Phone). Before buying pitches, attend, participate or watch Pitch Practice… then attend, participate or watch The Pitch Tank.

There are other platforms that offer access for pitching, but you don’t get the type of feedback you get here – and it’s not even close. Feel free to reach out to me if you hear more about my experience or if you’re just looking to discuss writing.

I'm "just a writer," but a prolific one. I have 85 or so scripts up on Stage 32 and I welcome your feedback (good or bad) -- it's how I learn. I love the Stage 32 community and the connections I've made. I comment frequently on Coffee and Content and write a blog from time to time, but I'd much rather be writing a new script. I gained a Literary Manager after I completed 30 scripts. I have one film out and two being produced now. Cheers.

And... as I've not ever intro'd myself here properly yet, let me do that now!

I'm a qualified CPA that was working in Family Office for UNHWI's (ultra nigh net worth) who shifted gears into the entertainment industry.

These days you'll find me producing; a slate of projects I'm developing, a weekly TV show (news and current affairs), EP'ing for selected film projects and here on Stage 32 where I'm an educator.

Currently I'm part way through an 8 wk lab with a fab group - we're getting into the nitty gritty of putting together an investment proposal and finding funds for your film.

Hi all, I am not an actor, a film producer or a screenwriter. I am just a 74-year-old great-grandmother who had a dream, to write a book and maybe one day see it become a movie or a documentary or TV series. We can all dream…right? I enjoying reading all your comments. I have learnt so much.

I've lived a life that's been nothing short of extraordinary, and I've always dreamed of sharing my story. It wasn't easy, mind you—I'm no scholar—but I never let go of that dream.

You would not believe the journey I've been on! With limited schooling, it took me over 30 years to jot down my amazing memories and another 12 to 14 years to get it published. But guess what? I never gave up!

My life was no walk in the park. Travelling on a ship from Cyprus that nearly took my life and my mother's. Growing up, I travelled all over Australia with my dad, who was a real character. He was a barber, a chef, a medium, a con artist but above all he was a lovable larrikin. He taught me how to be street smart, to love, gamble, run a business, hunt, and fish - an education no classroom could provide.

How I survived some of the hair-raising dangerous situations I was exposed to is a miracle in itself.

At only 13, I was pulled out of school. By 15, I was engaged, and by 16, I was married. At 17 I became a mother. A war and the traumatic birth of my second child, only made me stronger.

When we were evacuated to London, my family and I spent two long harrowing years, trying to return to our Aussie home. When we finally got back, I faced my biggest challenge yet: saving my son from an evil spirit.

My book, "Like a Dandelion in the Wind," is part memoir, part unbelievable adventure. Those who read my book laugh, cry, are amazed, shocked, and maybe even a little scared! as they travel across three counties with me and my incredible journey.

Hello, Stage 32 members. I hope to add more of you all to my virtual network as well as expand those that I enjoy working with on projects.

A little about myself, I've been in the film industry for about 15 years. I've had one optioned screenplay (like a lot of others, it wasn't produced). However, that same screenplay is in consideration again. I own 2 different production companies, AfterParty Productions and Gemini Crown Productions. I've directed and produced a feature doc, produced several shorts (including a SAG short) and a commercial. I'm currently in production on a docu-series. I've been a screenplay reader for a prominent film festival for many years as well as the Screenplay Director for Lake Travis Film Festival for 2 years.

In my spare time (lol) I run a start-up software company, Gemini Crown Tech, with my co-founder, Stephanie Moore, where we created a software made by filmmakers for filmmakers that is truly an all-in-one production software. Features include but are not limited to: automated script breakdowns (works with any version of Final Draft), stripboards, budget, schedules, push button notifications, document and file storage, and a fully compatiable app. We teach workshops on line production, grants and incentives, accounting for in-kind in your budget, and how to be prepared for meetings with distributors.

I love shopping at farmers' markets, crafting, attending and networking at film festivals, going to college football games (Hook 'em), traveling, hanging with my college kiddo, and my bulldog. I look forward to meeting you all.

In the ever changing landscape of filmmaking, whether in technology or trends, the constant I strive for is quality and creativity beyond the norm. We are in a very impactful field. How are you using it?

Greetings Stage 32! I am an animation production professional, screenplay analyst, and writer. I'm an animation thought leader for Stage 32, and I am a Stage 32 screenplay reader as well. I am kind of obsessed with cinema. My oldest daughter and I have a podcast called Gen XvZ: A Movie Podcast that you can find on Spotify, Apple, and wherever you get your podcasts. I also have my own website at monumentscripts.com, where I blog about movies, and I offer screenwriting services like coverage for screenplays and books.

Stage 32 offers a stimulating community filled with creative and ambitious people, some looking to learn and others willing to teach. There is a terrific communal spirit here. Hi everyone - saying hello, again. I have completed my 28th screenplay, and have started on my 29th  (which is actually a total rewrite from the Basement to the Penthouse on the 28th script -- I'm only keeping the title and the germ of an idea). 

I've had about 10 options over the past few years and have sold two scripts - both were produced.  My second film was just released - THE LEGEND OF LAKE HOLLOW - from Vision Films and Penumbra Entertainment (receiving a 10/10 review on Film Threat, which was incredible, to say the least). My first script (what was left of it) was released by Lionsgate. 

At the moment I am trying to nail that third sale and also find a new manager, as my current manager, who has been wonderful, is retiring. I write pretty much every day, though sometimes I take a day or two off to kick ideas around in my head and see where they land. I love what I do, and have met some great people here on State 32. Looking to add to my network, and be part of yours!

Hey all! I hope it’s going great in your neck of the woods this weekend!

I wanted to introduce myself and see if I can find here at Stage 32 what I can’t find much of on other social media platforms. Connection with storytellers who LOVE to talk about character and story and the way music relates to them.

If you couldn’t guess, I’m a composer for media. I’ll compose for anything related but I have to say my biggest passion is film. I connect with film so much because growing up I had a really tough time understanding relationships and emotional cues of other people around me. Often misinterpreting them and the world around me. But there was something in music that always hit me in VERY clear emotional ways. Stories in film captured my imagination and the music made clear what the characters were feeling, and what the story was telling me. Ever since music provides a context with which the world around me makes more sense.

It wasn’t until recently that I learned it’s because I’m neurodivergent (AuDHD). As I’ve learned and understood more about myself I’ve suddenly, even just in the past year, been capable of things I only dreamed of! I used to never be able to finish music I started. But in the last few years I’ve completed original music and scores for feature films and short films as well as my own personal projects! I’ve written in styles of music I never knew I had in me to write!

The thing that’s been the most fulfilling about this work, though has been connecting with passionate people telling stories, and who seem to enjoy as much as I do talking about how to support the story and characters through music. I love talking about intention, and developing arcs, themes and motifs that help build up the worlds created by passionate storytellers. I love using insights into characters lives to develop unique signature sonics for the score. And these kinds of relationships have led to me being invited back by the same people for their next films!

That’s what I’m hoping to find here. I’m finding there’s always a “next job”, but I find greater meaning and fulfillment in the work of the story, not just the next job. Truly collaborating with creative minds versus churning out cues with little thoughtfulness. And I love helping out and being cheerleader for others! I don’t see others who do what I do as enemy competition. You’re struggling through, or have struggled through, just like me so I’m excited when someone gets a win!

I know this is a long “howdy-do!”, but this is me and what it is I hope to gain by being here. Reaching out to new people is especially hard to do given my atypical nature. I tend not to have much to say unless directly related to music for storytelling.
