Has anyone played or just viewed plays of the new game, Stray Gods? It's a unique, interactive, single-player musical adventure game based on characters from Greek mythology.
I actually found it fun to watch (there are people who post their play-throughs on YouTube ). However, I will admit bias as Laura Bailey and Ashley Johnson of Critical Role play key roles in the production.
The game features a character who is the singer in a band who, following auditions the band has been holding is singing alone only to have a mysterious woman join in her song.
The woman, it turns out has been critically injured and dies in the woman's arms.
Things take an even more interesting turn as none other than Hermes, the messenger of the Greek gods shortly arrives to explain that the dead woman was Calliope, one of the Muses and our hapless heroine has now inherited her "Eidolon" ( soul ).
Oh, and, the remaining gods, Athena, chief among them are now accusing her of murdering Calliope and, if she can't prove her innocence in a week. She'll be put to death.
Anyhoo. the reason I bring this up is because of the style of the game. It's done like a motion comic. This is what my next project, "Heir Apparent-Chronicle" will be done in. However, the art style will be a bit different.
Anyhoo. Here's a link to the promo for the game, I'd love to hear people's takes on the idea of doing a feature film/series in this medium.

Expand comment@Geoff Thanks for share. Never before did we have so many tech tools, some freely accessible, to reach so many yet surprisingly the vacuum of power between the established wealthy & newer content creators has not shifted as way much as presumed. Agree that “fleeting” participation on many platforms is a factor. Tight & persistent collaboration is needed to turn more niche markets into any type of business model or movement. Established studios/franchises etc have funds to commoditise their ideas. Major adverts in public places, games & merchandise is a far cry from word pad stories, facebook watch, podcasts etc. yet many Indie artist’s work pays off by building fan bases, a successful self publishing or investor strategy. A weapon in the arsenal is to create pre awareness & I.P. growth. Execs/middle managers/producers usually won’t risk being put on the line for unknowns but risk is mitigated by high levels of pre awareness in an already over saturated market. We can all bypass the gatekeepers now but still leaves the question who will buy our work?

Pre-awareness. Tell me about it, but there’s no easy way to do that either. Forgive me if I sound forlorn or not brimming over with positivity, but we are come close to the bah humbug season!
