Carl Hippensteel is a screenwriter living in Chicago, Illinois. Carl was a free lance stage director for over 20 years and has written plays, screenplays and performance art. He is currently is a mental health therapist working at a program for people with severe and chronic mental illness.
Carl has a BA from the Indiana University Theater Department, a MFA in Acting and Directing from University of Missouri-Kansas City, a MA in Community Counseling and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
Carl’s screenplay, DANCING WITH MYSELF is the 5th place winner of Stage 32’s 2nd Annual Happy Writers Feature Screenplay Competition.
Carl lives with his husband of 35 years and two cats.
