Jeff Levin

Hi Everyone!

My name is Jeff Levin. I've been in education for 45 years. I taught English at Glenbard West High-School in Glen Ellyn Illinois from 1972-2005. I also coached boys and girls gymnastics. I'm also a member the Illinois Gymnnastics Coaches Hall of Fame. I've been working as a University Supervisor for Northern Illinois University for over a decade...love it! I've written various screenplays and other works of fiction over the years. Furthermore, I did "pitch" my screenplay SAVING SHAKE-SPEARE'S SOUL in Hollywood in 2005. Recently, I published a novel under the name Jeffrey A. Levin called DESCENDANT. It received excellent reviews in general. KIRKUS REVIEW and CLARION REVIEW both wrote insightful, intuitive reviews of my novel.
Before I go on...my personal resume deals with my 40 year marriage to my beautiful wife Kathy. I have two children- Josh and Jaymi (38-36 years old. My four grandsons- Wesley (7), Miles (7), Nolan (6) and Trevor (5) form the basis of my life.
So- why am I sending this bio to you guys? I also have a burning desire to write. My goals are 1.) to convert my novel DESCENDANT into a cable t.v. series (I've been told that my writing is highly imaginative and would work well on screen). 2. I'm writing a screenplay called "EVERYE WORD." It is a psychological murder mystery. But, that just the beginning of it. If I can "pull this off" it will shake the literary world to its knees. I know- you've probably heard that before. I'd love to "pitch" this screenplay to "you guys!" With a little help, I think it could really make it's way onto the screen. 3.) Honestly, I have no choice-I have to write. I know I've been "hanging out" in the educational, world raising a family, teaching, coaching and contributing on the "inside." I loved these experiences and wouldn't trade them for the world. By the way- I created a gifted program called LIGHTS! CAMERA! SCREENPLAY! My gifted students created a screenplay, accompanied by a documentary on the writing process.
However- what about now? I may be 67 (well- 5-27), but I feel younger than when I was sixteen. I feel I have a lot to offer. And- I want to get started. I realize I'm on "the other side of the moon" in Huntley. But, I'm willing to do what I have to do...to succeed. Why? Because- I have to!
