About Lynda

Lynda Lemberg is a retired secondary school teacher who has spent most of her life as an activist in the union, anti-racism, social justice, peace and international solidarity movements, including the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. When the first Gulf War broke out, she co-founded Educators for Peace and Justice. A long-time grassroots leader in OSSTF (Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation), Lynda was the first recipient of OSSTF’s James Forester Human Rights Award in recognition of her commitment to engaging the union with progressive causes. After retirement, Lynda volunteered as an acting coach and assistant to the director of high school theatre productions. Lynda has channeled her creative energy and passion for social justice in co-writing the multi-award-winning, multi-nominated screenplays, "Brave Hearts" (previously titled "GRACE") and "The Experiment" with her life partner, Jeffrey Allen Russel.
