About Mark

Mark W. McIntire has written and directed one short film, "The Josephine Judgement" and enjoyed two productions of his screenplay, "Bethlecafe". His on-camera work for Grimm, The Librarians, and Leverage consists of various background roles. Additionally, Mark worked as talent on the film "Givers, Takers and Other Kinds of Lovers" from 1980.
He also works as a public speaker and consultant, who equips individuals and teams to overcome barriers in relationships and to empower them to flourish through effective communication across cultural and lifestyle boundaries. He worked in the non-profit sector in Europe with immigrants and in the hospitality industry most of my life. He has facility in French.

He is the owner of Flourishing Beyond Borders and is a speaker and consultant on cultural issues of effectively overcoming barriers in relationships and strategies to equip individuals, teams, and organizations for productivity and fruitful relationships in an ever-growing, diverse world. His business provides mentorship, seminars, and keynote presentations on a variety of issues related to improving relationships from a cultural perspective.

After receiving his Masters in Intercultural Communications, Mark worked for a non-profit organization in Europe among the immigrant community during the latter half of the 1990s. He assisted their transition through conflict resolution, team building, and the day-to-day tasks of adaptation. He spent many years in the entertainment, hospitality and travel industries honing his skills in creating understanding across cultural, lifestyle, and social barriers. He continues working as a vacation consultant with 2 Getaway Travel and is active in transitional work for immigrants and for people reentering society, either from incarceration or from an extended expat experience. His effective work in many different cultural and interpersonal contexts provides him with a unique understanding of cross-cultural adaptation, inter-generational understanding and strategies for inclusion.

He and his wife live in Salem, Oregon. Their four children and numerous grandchildren bring joy and blessing to them along with being a constant source of laughter, energy, and relational richness.

He's the father of four and proud grandfather of many. Mark and his wife love the outdoors, the ocean, and fun with friends. As an avocation, Mark has directed one short film, worked as an extra and celebrated the Arts whenever possible.
