About Rachael

My involvement in professional performing arts began in 2007, and since then has spanned dozens of shows from Theater to Dance. I have worked in the Arvada Center’s costume department for several seasons of their productions. Currently resident Costume Designer for Wonderbound, a contemporary ballet company in Denver, Colorado. (Wonderbound was formerly known as Ballet Nouveau Colorado.) One year ago I designed the costumes for Sarah Tallman's "Son of Man" ballet. My costume design was inspired by a picture she brought in of Alexander McQueen's Kimono Bubble Dress from his "Savage Beauty" line. Seemingly a simple skirt design, it was pretty difficult to interpret for ballet and execute. But it was a VERY fun challenge and my favorite show last season. Lead characters "Johnny Alpha" and "Chase Bancroft" investigate the seedy underworld of "Boomtown" a modern parody of Denver.
