About Trai

TRAI CARTWRIGHT, MFA, is a 25-year entertainment industry veteran and writing and producing specialist. During her 15 years in Los Angeles, Trai consulted on thousands of screenplays for HBO, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Universal, and New Line. She produced three indie movies, and recently produced her first Colorado-based feature. She was assistant director of Leonardo DiCaprio's online ventures, the Hollywood liaison for a massively multi-player online role-playing game company, and made really bad cell phone content for Fox.

As a writer, four of Trai’s screenplays were optioned to Academy and Emmy award-winning producers, and she is currently the screenwriter on Secret Ellington for Main Man Films, and Cheap Cabernet for producer Cathie Beck. A busy writing consultant and editor, she also teaches media producing, creative writing, and screenwriting across the Front Range for colleges, writers groups, conferences, and one-on-one. Countless numbers of her clients have gone on to produce, publish, secure representation and place in the top tiers of writing contests.

To help facilitate the education and market mastery of her fellow filmmakers, she founded the Colorado Smart Film Investment Coalition (), the Colorado Script Exchange () and the Ultimate Pitchfest (). Trai’s workshop and editorial services live at Craftwrite () and she can be found at .

    Cheap Cabernet (2017)
Film by Cathie Beck Screenwriter Cheap Cabernet is a vintage tale, a female buddy story chock full of the stuff of life: tears, laughter and love in the darkest of times. You won’t put it down until the final page, at which time a box of Kleenex and a glass of cabernet, cheap or otherwise, would be wise to have on hand: the first to deal with the story’s denouement, the second to toast Beck’s triumph.
