Anthony S. Marchio is a Director, Producer and Screenwriter. Anthony is a graduate of Temple University's Film and Media Arts Program. He is also a graduate of Bucks County Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Cinema/Video Production. Anthony’s love of movies started at a very young age.
“I remember the first movie I went to see at the theater, it was in 1993. My mother and father took me to see 'Jurassic Park'. Right then and there I fell in love with movies. Seeing a movie about dinosaurs made my imagination run wild. Being a six-year-old boy and seeing dinosaurs on the big screen brought the notion of dinosaurs to life. I couldn't tell the difference between real life and the film; I was a young boy immersed in a world of fantasy. From that day on my mother would take me every weekend to see new releases. Nowadays, I enjoy watching any genre of movies.”
Anthony’s love of movies carried through into his teenage years. It wasn’t until 2003 when Anthony decided that film-making was in his future.
“I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do career-wise after I left high school. I heard that a new Action/Adventure was being released by Disney called, 'Pirates of the Caribbean' I decided to go see it. What I saw next blew me away. The grand scale of the movie was beyond what I had ever seen. The action mixed with comedy as well as the setting made this movie a fantastic adventure come to life. I left the theater excited and thrilled. This was the movie that made me decide to be a filmmaker.”
In 2007 Anthony began attending Buck County Community College in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Anthony’s love for movies developed fully as he attended BCCC.
“I was planning on going to the University of the Arts for film making but made the choice to go to Bucks County Community College. It was a good choice."
Anthony credits two professors at Bucks County Community College that made his love for movies go beyond his expectations.
“Ron Feedback was a film professor and the humblest and most knowledgeable person I have come across when it came to film-making. The way he taught and the way he explained things made film making so easy to understand. Ron was the type of professor who made you do things hands on. He made you change the film roles in a Bolex camera, he made you edit on a flatbed ... I had Ron two and a half years in a row. Film I, Film II, Film III, broadcasting and audio production; five classes I took with Professor Feedback which made me understand why I wanted to become a filmmaker. It made me respect film making even more.
“Judy Switzer was another film professor that made me fall deeper in love with movies. History of Film was the class that I took with her. I watched films from the 1900s up until the 2000s. Film ranging from 'A TRIP TO THE MOON (1908)' to 'HERO (2002)'. Learning about German Expressionism to the first films with sound opened my eyes to a wide variety of films I never knew existed. My few favorites that I enjoyed watching in Professor Switzer’s class was 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920)', 'Jazz Singer (1927)', 'The 400 blows (1959)', 'The Bicycle Thief (1948)' and 'The Battleship Potemkin (1925)'.”
From 2013 to 2015, Anthony attended Temple University in the Bachelors of Fine Arts Program. It would take Anthony 5 years to launch what is now known as Marchio Productions. Marchio Productions will focus on Short films, Web Series Projects and Podcasts
