About Cheris

Cheris Mooney is a Singer/ Songwriter based out of Los Angeles, California. She began singing and performing at the age of 6. Being raised in a musical household, she was privileged to grow up in an environment that embraced a variety of musical styles. Growing up, her mother was a Gospel songwriter, while her father was a Jazz musician and Soul singer. These elements proved to be fertile ground for the budding songwriter.

Cheris has been writing since the age of 15 when she formed the Gospel/ R&B duet "CHC" with her sister Amber Harrell- Tobey. From there, the duo began writing, recording and performing throughout Southern California. In 2005 they independently released a five track maxi-single titled "Givin’ Me Love.”

The group later signed a record deal with Christsyde Records and went into production for their debut album titled “Don’t Walk Away.” It was during that time that Cheris was able to hone and develop her talent as a songwriter. She went on to write over 20 songs during the albums production. Stylistically, the songs were a fusion of Gospel, Hip-Hop, R&B and Jazz. Lyrically, her music provided an open and honest picture of relatable issues. The end result proved to resonate well with audiences when the duo later presented their "street gospel" music on tour.

Cheris has had the opportunity to write and collaborate with a number of artist and producers. She also began writing screenplays and working as a freelance writer.

Eager to further share her talents, Cheris founded Kuest Jones Media in 2014. Although the entertainment media company provides an array of services, music and writing are very much the heart and soul of what they produce.
