Todd Slavkin is a showrunner/writer/director with over 35 years of experience in both film and television. Working with his oldest friend and writing/producing partner Darren Swimmer, Todd has worked in all different kinds of genres and has been involved with many popular television shows, including SMALLVILLE, SHADOWHUNTERS (winner of 2017 GLAAD media award for outstanding drama series, 2018 People’s Choice Award for Best Show & Most Bingeworthy Show, 2019 People’s Choice Award Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Show) and most recently THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY, for which he was nominated for four Emmys; 2022 & 2023 Outstanding Young Teen Series and Outstanding Writing for a Young Teen Program. He has written pilots for ABC, NBC, FOX, SYFY, FREEFORM and The CW, where he developed and was co-showrunner of MELROSE PLACE 2.0. If you are ready to write your TV series pilot episode under the mentorship of one of the best showrunners working in TV then this exclusive Stage 32 screenwriting lab is for you.

Over the course of this 10 week writing lab, you will develop your series idea into a professional pilot episode outline and then you will actually write your pilot episode. 

Guiding you on your writing journey is multi Emmy nominated television writer and showrunner Todd Slavkin. Todd will teach you about about story structure, scene structure, scene description, dialogue and everything in between and you will walk away from his lab with the first draft of your completed teleplay for your pilot episode.

You will work with Todd and your fellow writers in a virtual class setting, with ample time for Q&A’s, and you will also have one-on-one sessions with Todd where he will give you constructive notes and share his thoughts on your story, outline and script pages.

These sessions will mirror the experience you would have working with a showrunner on your pilot and allow you the opportunity to be mentored by a top professional to get your script written.

A: Stage 32 Next Level Classes are typically 90-minute broadcasts that take place online using a designated software program from Stage 32.

Q: Do I have to be located in a specific location?
A: No, you can participate from the comfort of your own home using your personal computer! If you attend a live online webinar, you will be able to communicate directly with your instructor during the class.

Q: What are the system requirements?
A: You will need to meet the following system requirements in order to run the webinar software: Windows 7 or later Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or later.
If you have Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion): The webinar software does not support these operating systems. Q: What if I cannot attend the live lab class?
