Anthony Cruze Chidiac (aka "ant cruze", "cruzey", "2greendollars" and "The Popbrokers") is an Australian born content producer, actor, model and writer. He is the inaugural (and still current) Guinness World Record winning Video DJ.
In addition to working with Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, George Michael, B.B. King, Sheila E, Prince, John Farnham and other popular music artists, Cruze is one of the worlds internet video pioneers: noted to have engineered and streamed the worlds first "livestream" from the Victorian (Australia) Government budget speech on the 2nd of May, 2000. Over 5,000 recipients watched the live event, funded by media company "E-cast". He started working as a DJ and Music Producer at 15 years of age (since the 1980's). He has a Bachelor of Science (Communications and Electronics).
International press describes him in entertainment publications as "The world's most accomplished party anchor" and "the game changer of the entertainment industry". An Entertainer and Creator for the 2016 Olympic Games Ceremony in Rio De Janiero, Cruze is a technically savvy pioneer in digital audio and video in the field of Recordable DVD Technology and High Efficiency Video Compression (HEVC).
The first of his internet oriented accomplishments that made worldwide news was executed at a time when Youtube and other video streaming services were still just a thought bubble.
When he needed to wirelessly transmit a digital signal across a room, he took off the shelf wifi access points that had a maximum speed of 11mbps and doubled their output by compressing the data over the air (see "Opulent wireless data rates" article, IT news, 2003.).
Cruze produced the first commercially broadcast audio recording remix entirely without leaving the digital domain (Michael Jackson's "Can't Let Her Get Away", in 1992), and is noted for first demonstrating the ability to be able to record, edit, and author digital video in real-time direct to DVD, including menus and index markers. He co-invented the technology behind in-place compressed video editing in partnership with Pinnacle Systems. The demonstration of the technology was first shown by Cruze at Bill Gates' Launch of the Windows XP operating system. Pinnacle Systems was later bought by Avid, and The Opulent Group is now a major complex electronic manufacturer in Asia.
In a press conference held by The Recordable DVD Council on the 12th November 2001 at COMDEX, Cruze mentioned of such real time technology becoming commonplace in the living room of every household in years to come in both DVD Recording and Digital non-tape based cameras. A view that the coalition of 83 RDVDC members, including Toshiba, Panasonic, JVC and Pioneer shared and developed into consumer devices. It was the first time ever that every major electronics company started to agree on a single format and standard, bringing to an end the long and expensive format wars such as VHS vs Beta vs other formats.
The base technology showcased in the Bill Gates Launch of Windows XP is still used in the encoding process for compressed video files today, and the majority of compressed video is now processed by dedicated hardware as originally demonstrated by Cruze, by manufacturers such as Intel, Avid, NVidia, and AMD.
Preceding the first digital remix, he has produced a number of remixes for some of the biggest selling artists in the world; Janet Jackson, Sheila E, Prince, George Michael, Peter Andre, Pretty Poison, The Village People, Shanice, and Brandy to name a few.
At MGM Grand Macau through 2010-2013, he has successfully delivered a hattrick of new innovations in concert technology: 3d naked eye holography, the largest screen in the world to playback Music Video, and synced with live concert and theatrics such as aerialists, fire and the worlds largest indoor fireworks display.
He specialises in large format, large scale launch events, previously featured by Sony Pictures (Michael Jacksons "This is It") Current day: Lionsgate launch at CinemaCon for "Kin", "Robin Hood", "Uncle Drew", "Blindspotting", "A Simple Favor" and "The Spy Who Dumped Me".
All this, and he really plays an amazing Video DJ set when he makes the odd appearance at a major event or club. One of the few DJ's that has other DJ's follow him and attend his performances in large numbers. Performances and public appearances have become seldom due to the time it takes to produce a new, more complex show than his previous.
He is a stakeholder in 8x Media and Events and continues to create content for 2greendollars, the PopBrokers, and "Ant Cruze and the Superstars" in tandem with assisting with Visual Content for Tours such as Sheila E, John Farnham and others, delivering solutions in partnership with Australian company Blackmagic Design: a digital cinema company and manufacturer of digital video products.
