Mannequin is a horror film that is driven by a man whose mental health issues we never treated and always neglected. At an early age his father was verbally and physically abusive. Obsessed with perfection, his father always told him he was never good enough. After years of abuse and neglect he became much more. He started to murder and use human skin to create his mannequins to hopefully please his dead father, who is a mannequin himself. He has been targeting homeless people for a few years now and has been able to go under the radar since many have no connections. However one day, a group of young adults that go on a camping trip end up walking into his lair. It then becomes a fight for survival for both parties. The true lengths on his actions are revealed. Looking for a manager to collaborate on promoting my screenplays in the film industry. I currently have two completed projects in my portfolio, the key one being a feature-length psychological drama "Light Off-Screen." Logline: A young director whose life is a perfectly composed frame finds himself under the ruthless light of public judgment. Each day brings a new blow: betrayal from colleagues, silence from friends, his wife's gaze where hope slowly gives way to exhaustion. He tries to keep his posture straight — but the pressure keeps building. Until one day, he can no longer tell: is he still holding the frame, or is the frame holding him? About the project: This is a psychological thriller not about guilt, but about pressure. A director used to controlling the frame now finds himself in front of the lens. Seeking screenwriters in Sydney, Australia
Hi everyone. My name is Matt based in Sydney, Australia. I’m currently in development on an upmarket action/thriller feature set in Sydney. I’m looking to collaborate with an experienced screenwriter to take the project through a strong, market-facing first draft. The aim is to collaborate on a strong first draft that leads with story, character, momentum and keeps readers, financiers, cast and key creatives engaged. Creatively I’m looking for a writer experienced in character-driven, upmarket action thrillers with a strong sense of tone, tension and thematic weight being as important as the action itself. This isn’t a “throwaway” draft for pitching purposes, it’s a proper first draft intended to be developed forward as the foundation of the film. A detailed story outline is already in place and I’ll be working closely with the writer on story, structure and character as we develop the draft. Tonally and stylistically think Monkey Man, Upgrade and The Equalizer. Grounded, visceral action with emotional weight and strong character arcs will be the core. Prior experience in action/thriller, genre-driven features is definitely a plus. I’m looking to work with a writer who’s interested in early creative collaboration on a project with a defined development path and market focus. Happy to share more details with those who feel aligned and experienced.
